Marcy Few
Marcy Few is the loving and supportive wife of college basketball coach, Mark Few –the head coach for the Gonzaga men’s basketball team.
Marcy and her husband have been married for over two decades, needless to say she has been key in her husband’s success.
Mark Few was born December 27, 1962. The Oregon native played point guard at Creswell High School in Oregon.
Few originally joined the Bulldogs for the 1989-90 season as a graduate assistant under former head coach Dan Fitzgerald, then was promoted to a fulltime assistant for the 1991-92 season. He was named associate head coach in April of 1999.
Few who has been in the school’s coaching staff since 1989, has helped the team to become regular participants in the NCAA Tournament. He has been the head coach for the last 18-years.
He was named WCC Coach of the Year every season from 1999-2000 to 2005-06.
Marcy Few was born Marcy Eileen Laca 46-years-ago, she is of Basque descent. Marcy is actually a former Gonzaga student. She and Mark met while she worked monitoring the entrance to the school’s athletic facility and he was an assistant at Gonzaga.
The two tied the know 1994 officially becoming husband and wife.
She had her father-in-law Rev. Norm Few officiate the ceremony. Since then, Marcy Few has become a proud mother of four children.
The couple welcomed their first child Austin James, known as A.J. in 2000. Second child is son, Joseph Dillon born in 2002. He is followed by the arrival of Julia Ann Elizabeth born in 2006.
Last but certainly not least, Marcy and Mark Few, welcomed fourth child, Colt Walker Norman in 2009.
Marcy Few has become one of the most supportive coach’s wife around. Ever since her husband became head coach at Gonzaga in 1999, she has been his and the team’s number one fan. She has been a regular face on the sidelines ever since.
Marcy Few is also involved in the charity work, including the golf tournament she and her husband organize under the Coaches vs. Cancer umbrella.
In return her husband could be one of very few coaches who has turned down coaching offers in order to provide stability for himself and his family. Reason why the family have essentially spent their entire lives in Spokane.
