Jan Stotts
Jan Stotts is the caring wife of NBA coach Terry Stotts, who’s the current head coach for the Portland Trail Blazers. He has also been an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks, at the time they won the 2011 NBA Championship. Keep reading to learn more about Mr. and Mrs. Stotts!
The Trail Blazers’ head coach was born Terry Stotts on November 25, 1957. He’s originally from Cedar Falls, Iowa, but grew up in Illinois, Wisconsin, Guam, and Indiana. Mr. Stotts graduated from Bloomington High School North in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1976.
Jan’s hubby was an Academic All-American selection in his junior and senior seasons, and an All-Big Eight Conference selection during his senior season. Stotts was also a starter in all his four seasons with the University of Oklahoma Sooners basketball team.
Mr. Stotts graduated from OU in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Master in Business Administration from Oklahoma, too, in 1988 on a postgraduate scholarship from the NCAA.
He was hired as an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks in 2008, shortly after Rick Carlisle was hired as a head coach in September, and four years later, the Portland Trail Blazers hired him as their head coach, specifically on August 7, 2012.
Stotts’ relationship with Jan comes from way long ago. They were married in 1988 and have no children. Mrs. Stotts was born Janet M. Schwartz on July 2, 1953. She’s a Minnesota native and one of two children born to Fritz and Mayvis Schwartz. Jan has a sister named Barbara Berge.
