Nikola Mirotic was born on February 11, 1991. He is Montenegrin-Spanish, and specifically comes from Titograd, SR Montenegro. Football was Mirotic’s true passion, but his family considered he could play basketball as he got taller and taller. Nikola’s grandfather introduced him to basketball when he was 13. Mirotic spent his childhood in Montenegro, and started playing basketball with the Joker School in Podgorica. It was at the age of 14 that Nikola Mirotic signed a junior contract with Real Madrid in the summer of 2005.
The Bulls’ power forward signed with the Real Madrid senior team of the Liga ACB in 2008, and signed a five-year contract extension with the team in April 2011. Mirotic was selected by the Houston Rockets on June 23, 2011, with the 23rd overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He was later traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and once again was transferred to the Chicago Bulls on July 18, 2014, to a reported three-year, $16.6 million contract. Now that you got a quick review of Mr. Mirotic’s life and career, it’s time to learn more about his wife!
Nina Mirotic is the daughter of Jadran Vujacic, who happens to be a personal coach that Nikola had for eight years! They met when the NBA player was 13, and eight years later there was Nikola telling his coach he fell for his daughter! At first it wasn’t easy for Mr. Vujacic, but everyone was happy after a month. Nina’s father played professionally for more than two decades in what was Yugoslavia. He’s 6-foot-9, so that’s why his daughter is almost as tall as her hubby!
The couple married in June 2012, and Nina gave birth on May 2013 to the marriage’s first child: their son Aleksandar. The family used to live in Spain at the time Nikola played for Real Madrid, until he was signed to the Bulls in 2014.
It seems Mr. and Mrs. Mirotic enjoy spending time together at cultural events while they’re not into sports, and Nikola shares pictures of this on his social media accounts!
