Emmanuel David “Manu” Ginobili Maccari was born on July 28, 1977. He’s originally from Bahía Blanca, Argentina. The NBA player is a member of the Argentine men’s national basketball team, and has won a EuroLeague title, an NBA championship, an Olympic gold medal. Along with Bill Bradley, they have been the only two players to acquire this recognitions.
Manu’s eldest brother played as a professional basketball player in Argentina, and their younger brother did the same in Spain. Their father coached in their hometown as the NBA player was discovering his talent at basketball. The Spurs’ shooting guard is the only one of the family who plays in the United States, bringing his wife, too.
The couple got married in the summer of July 2004, in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. Manu signed a six-year, $52 million contract extension with the Spurs just days after the wedding! The family started to grow by two on May 16, 2010, when Marianela gave birth to the couple’s twin boys: Dante and Nicola. Their third son, Luca, came on April 21, 2014.
