Hassan Niam Whiteside was born on June 13, 1989. He’s originally from Gastonia, North Carolina, and is the son of Debbie Whiteside and former NFL player Hasson Arbubakrr for the Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Heat’s center player was selected by the Sacramento Kings in the 2nd round (33rd pick) of the 2010 NBA Draft. He signed with the Memphis Grizzlies last year as a free agent and was waived a month later, so he then signed with the Heat in November 2014.
