Brittany Johnson is the fabulous fiancée of the NBA player Harrison Barnes, a small forward for the Dallas Mavericks. He was selected 7th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, and joined the Mavericks in 2016. Keep reading to learn about Brittany, too!
Some of you may not know certain details about Barnes’ life and career, so check out some interesting facts about him first:
Harrison Bryce Jordan Barnes was born on May 30, 1992. He’s originally from Ames, Iowa. His passion for basketball started when the NBA player was in high school. He attended Ames High School and then graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with a major in Business Administration.
Guess what? This stud’s the complete package: he’s not only an athletic man, he’s also a very smart one! Barnes was a member of the honor roll all four years of college, and he competed in the high jump and long jump when he wasn’t playing basketball. During his professional career, he became a reserve player through his first two seasons with the Warriors, and he moved back into the starting line until coach Kerr arrived.
You still haven’t heard all of Brittany’s fiancé: he was part of the students that help to eliminate poverty and hunger, and led a weekly bible study. He also participated in local school drives, sang in the school choir, played the saxophone, earned academic all-conference honors, and was an Advanced Placement Scholar. Harrison also worked with the Ronald McDonald House!
Now let’s talk about Ms. Johnson! She was born and raised in San Francisco, and graduated from Pine Forge Academy in 2009. She then received her B.S. in English and Literature from Spelman College in 2012, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel with her bachelor’s degree in Global Studies and African-American Studies. Brittany later received her master’s degree at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
Barnes’ fiancée was an intern in the editorial department of the Sierra Club in 2013. That same year she was also been a reporter for Richmond Confidential and worked for Sierra Magazine and emPower Magazine.
Ms. Johnson became a news intern at NBC News in Frisco in 2014 and worked as a marketing and editorial intern at PopSugar that same year. She’s currently working as a video journalist at CNS News and digital content writer at UC Hastings College of the Law.
