Mr. Williams is a three-time NBA All-Star that has also played for a team called Beşiktaş, which belongs to the Turkish Basketball League, and was a gold medal winner on the United States national team at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics.
The 6’3’’ player is originally from Parkersburg, West Virginia, and goes by the nickname D-Will. Deron got into wrestling while attending high school at West Colony, in Texas, but it was basketball that really drove him while the University of Illinois.
Williams signed with the Dallas Mavericks on July 14, 2015. He made his debut in the team’s season opener against the Phoenix Suns on October 28, recording 12 points and 7 assists in a 111-95 win.
Between late March and early April 2016, the Mavericks point guard missed eight games with a left abdominal strain that later resurfaced in Game 4 of the team’s first-round playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, ruling Williams out for the rest of the game after just 89 seconds, and later ruled him out for the rest of the season.
The NBA point guard re-signed with the Mavericks on July 8, 2016. Williams scored a team-high 25 points in a 130-121 overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers in the Mavericks’ season opener, on October 26, 2016.

Deron had eight assists on January 22, 2017, against the Los Angeles Lakers, and moved into 20th place in the NBA history with 6,715 assists, passing Kevin Johnson.
AMY YOUNG WILLIAMS
Mr. and Mrs. Williams have been in each other’s lives since they were just a couple of second-graders in Texas. Amy and Deron became friends very quickly, but began to get even closer in high school when they started dating and where this stunning gal also played basketball.
Deron’s wife became Amy Young Williams in 2006. She’s also the proud mother of two daughters and two sons: Denae; Daija; Deron, Jr., aka “DJ”; and Desmond. After having two daughters, adoption sounded like a good choice for the couple, which makes sense because Amy herself was adopted, and revealed it was something she always wanted to do because she wanted to do the same thing her parents did for her.
DJ, their adopted son, was diagnosed with autism in 2012. He was born in Brooklyn and was adopted through an agency in Utah at the time Mr. Williams was playing with the Jazz. Deron, Jr.’s diagnosis was hard, and the kid was a daddy’s boy ever since he got home.
Amy said that “(Deron) was always the person D.J. was drawn to. When we were in Utah and D.J. was maybe 9 or 10 months old, the PR people would come and get D.J. and take him straight to the locker room. And people would laugh at me in the hallway and say, ‘We would think you’re the babysitter’”.
Deron, Jr. would go with anybody if he knew they’d take him to his dad. “So when he got diagnosed, it was really hard on Deron because it was his first son and they both had a really deep connection”, Amy expressed. The couple established their own foundation in 2007, The Point of Hope Foundation, with a goal to help improve the quality of life for families and children.
