Carmelo Kyam Anthony was born on May 29, 1984. He’s originally from Brooklyn, New York. La La’s hubby led the Orangeman to their first and only National Championship during his freshman season, and was named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Anthony was traded from the Nuggets to the New York Knicks in 2011, just days prior to the NBA trade deadline.
The Knicks’ small forward has had many ups and downs in his life and career: he has been a guest star in many TV series and films, was chosen to be a special award headliner, founded North American Soccer League expansion club Puerto Rico FC, has done a lot of charity work, and has also been involved in several controversies.
Anthony has two brothers, Robert and Wilford, and a half-sister, Daphne. His other sister Michelle passed away in 2010. Carmelo is the son of Mary, an African-American woman, and Carmelo Iriarte, Puerto Rican, who passed away, too.

LA LA ANTHONY
Alani Nicole “La La” Anthony (née. Vázquez) was born on June 25, 1979. She’s also from Brooklyn, so maybe the couple met in their hometown! La La is an actress, business woman, New York Times best-selling author, producer, and radio and television personality.
Mrs. Anthony’s parents are both Nuyorican: people of Puerto Rican heritage that were born and raised in New York City. La La describes herself as an Afro-Puerto Rican woman, and she has one younger brother and two younger sisters. While she has been involved in many activities, music was always her main interest. This stunning lady graduated from Howard University with a degree in Communications.
Carmelo’s wife began her entertainment career in radio at Hot 97 station when she was 15. La La was still in high school when, after a short internship at that station, she was given her own show: the wildly popular Future Flavas, alongside rapper/actor Ludacris. Carmelo’s wife came to the spotlight as an MTV video jockey on Total Request Live in the early 2000s.
La La and Carmelo became engaged exactly on Christmas Day of 2004! Their wedding took place at Cipriani’s in New York City. The couple was married by Michael Eric Dyson, before 320 guests, and the ceremony was filmed by VH1. This wedding was aired as part of La La’s Full Court Wedding, a reality series based on this marriage, and their life together is chronicled on La La’s Full Court Life, their continuation series.
The couple has one child together, their son Kiyan Carmelo, who was born on March 7, 2007. The Anthony family resides on the Upper West Side, Manhattan.
