Christy West is the baby mama of the NBA player DeMarcus Cousins, who’s a center for the New Orleans Pelicans. “Boogie”, as many call him, was an All-American in 2010 while he played college basketball for the University of Kentucky, Cousins was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the 5th overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft, leaving Kentucky after one season. DeMarcus and his teammate Omri Casspi were traded on February 20, 2017 to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for 2017 first round and second round draft picks and for Tyreke Evans, Buddy Hield, and Langston Galloway.
DeMarcus Amir Cousins was born on August 13, 1990. He’s originally from Mobile, Alabama. His career began when Cousins became a McDonald’s All-American out of LeFlore Magnet High School, in his hometown. The NBA player was raised around his five siblings by their mother, Monique.
The Pelicans’ center player has won two gold medals as a member of the USA national team: one at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2014 and the other one at the Rio Olympics in 2016. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in his first season with the Kings, and was named an NBA All-Star from 2015 to 2017.
It’s hard to find info about Christy West. We know that she’s from Mobile, too, so she and DeMarcus were probably high school/college sweethearts. Christy West is the mother of DeMarcus’ son, Amir, who has a sister named Vana, but we’re not sure if she’s also Ms. West’s child.
There’s so much confusion out there about who Christy West really is. Some sites say she’s actually Morgan, the same girl Cousins is dating now. Some other say Christy’s the mother of DeMarcus’ son and daughter. What we do know is that Mr. Cousins has kept his private life on a low profile: it wasn’t even known to media that the NBA player had a son until back in 2012 when the baby was five months old!
